Emily from Cincinnati, OH, knows that the best way to flirt at a party is to get with the flow of things, have a drink or two to unwind and settle down like you want to be approached.

"A lot of times when you first get to a party, you're a little tight and nervous," she told Flirting.com.  "Have a drink and relax.  Open up and take up a good position on a couch, or something.  This says you want to relax.  But, don't overdo the drinks."

Emily is a party flirting expert.  When at parties, don't overindulge.  You leave yourself vulnerable for one thing, and you'll also come across as a lush.  A good tip is to alternate alcoholic drinks with glasses of water.  This will slow you down, but keep your flirting fast and lose.

FLIRTING

Brad (black shirt) loves to attend dinner parties and finds they are great opportunities for flirting.  His technique is called the photo flirt.  He explains:

"Somebody usually has a camera at a dinner party and wants to get everybody together for a snapshot," he said, coyly.  "I usually buddy up with a cute number and make some light flirting contact like putting my hand on her shoulder or something like that."

Great technique, Brad.  You don't have to be a professional photographer to take advantage of this tip. Just focus on who you want to be next to when the camera guy is ready to click away.

Here we see a human pyramid being formed at a wild college party at the University of Connecticut.  There is a certain collective flirting that is goes on anytime you have mass groups of people participating in games.

"Hey, nothing shows a bad flirt like being a wet blanket and not participating," said Stan, an undergrad who organized the building of the above pyramid.

We agree.  Get involved at the party and don't stand on the sidelines.  There's never any good action on the sidelines, take our word for it.

Accessories are essential, says Jasmine from Minneapolis, MN.  She pays careful attention to what she wears to parties because she knows it will attract attention, if she does it right.

"You have to stand out," she said.  "You can help yourself do so, but it is important to wear the right things for the right party."

There's a time and place for everything.  You know the time.  You just make sure you wear the right stuff at the right place, just like Jasmine and you'll be fine.

Patricia from Jacksonville, FL, knows that great flirting is a matter of preparation and attention to detail.

"It's not just the dress you wear, but how you wear it," she told Flirting.com. "How you walk, even how you hold and sip a drink tells a man a lot."

Patricia is not patronizing when it comes to flirting at parties.  Be like her and don't walk a drink over, saunter over invitingly.

Mira from Olympia, WA, recommends drawing as much attention to yourself as possible at a party. Karaoke parties, for example, are always a good time. Mira says displaying a talent is always a good starting point.

"If we're at a party at a bar or pub and they have a microphone," she said.  "You'll hear me sing and then you'll see how hot I am."

Mira's approach is bold and we love it. The only caveat is if your talent is a stupid one, and there are stupid talents, like juggling. Kids might like you...but the ladies won't.
